SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame will play host to the third annual “Countdown to the Triple Crown” fundraising event on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025. This winter fundraiser, scheduled exactly three months prior to the 151st Kentucky Derby, will feature dozens of silent auction items and an online auction of unique items and experience packages to benefit the Museum.
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame’s sixth annual Photo Finish exhibition will open in the Museum’s von Stade Gallery on Saturday, Nov. 2. The exhibit will also be available on the Museum’s website. The onsite exhibition will run through Feb. 2, 2025. The online exhibition includes all photographs exhibited at the museum, as well as additional selections.
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — Longtime National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame board of trustees member Charlotte C. Weber has been chosen as the Museum’s interim board chair through a vote by the institution’s Executive Committee. Weber, previously a vice chair, will serve in the chair position formerly held by John Hendrickson, who passed away at the age of 59 on Aug. 19. Hendrickson was the Museum’s chair since 2017. Weber has been a Musuem trustee since 2001.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — Nine new members have been elected to the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. The class of 2024 is comprised of jockey Joel Rosario and racehorses Gun Runner (KY) and Justify (KY) in the contemporary category; jockey Abe Hawkins and racehorses Aristides (KY) and Lecomte (KY) have been selected by the Pre-1900 Historic Review Committee; and Harry F. Guggenheim, Clement L. Hirsch, and Joe Hirsch were chosen by the Pillars of the Turf Committee. Rosario, Gun Runner, and Justify were all elected in their first year of eligibility. The 2024 Hall of Fame class will be enshrined on Friday, Aug. 2, at the Fasig-Tipton sales pavilion in Saratoga Springs at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony will be broadcast live on the Museum website at www.racingmuseum.org. The event is open to the public and free to attend.
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame is partnering with the Adelphi Hotel and the Saratoga Springs History Museum to present the John Morrissey Trifecta Tour on Thursday, May 23. Focusing on Morrissey’s connections to three iconic Saratoga Springs institutions, the tour will celebrate the remarkable legacy of the fierce individual who established organized thoroughbred racing in the village during the summer of 1863. The tour includes transportation by trolleys and will depart from the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame at 6:15 p.m. and head to the Adelphi Hotel, where Morrissey died on May 1, 1878. At the hotel, historian Charles Kuenzel will detail Morrissey’s political legacy, impact on Saratoga Springs, and his final days. Guests will be treated to hors d’oeuvres and a specialty cocktail at the hotel before advancing to the Saratoga Springs History Museum at the Canfield Casino.
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame will play host to its annual Kentucky Derby Preview Panel program as well as a book and memorabilia sale on Saturday, April 27. Admission to the program and book sale is free. The book and memorabilia sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Museum lobby and the Kentucky Derby program will begin at 12 p.m. in the Hall of Fame. Additionally, the Museum Gift Shop will be offering 15 percent off all new books throughout the day.
