Thursday, July 2 — Angel Cordero, Jr. Museum Tour
Time: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
About: Hall of Fame Jockey Angel Cordero, Jr. will be back this summer hosting a specialty tour at the Museum. The three-time Kentucky Derby winner and “King of Saratoga,” Cordero was one of the 20th century’s leading jockeys and the first native of Puerto Rico to be inducted to the Hall of Fame. Now, in this one-of-a-kind tour, you’ll have the chance to spend time with one of thoroughbred racing’s most influential figures, and one of the greatest jockeys of all time. Wednesday, July 9 — Keeneland Library’s Heart of the Turf: Racing’s Black Pioneers exhibition opening
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
About: Celebrate the opening of The Heart of the Turf: Racing’s Black Pioneers traveling exhibit, developed and shared by the Keeneland Library, highlighting the lives and careers of 100 African American horsemen and women from the mid-1800s to the present. Keeneland Library’s Roda Ferraro will give a 30-minute presentation and be available for questions in the von Stade gallery.

Saturday, July 12 — McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds Farm Tour
Time: 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
About: Join the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame as we tour McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds. Guests will enjoy a unique 90-minute tour, where a knowledgeable guide will give you a behind the scenes look at how the farm operates. Then, you’ll meet some of the farm’s thoroughbreds. At the close of the tour, guests will have the opportunity to ask their guide any questions they may have about the care and keeping of these beautiful animals. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended on this tour.
This tour takes place at McMahon Thoroughbreds and includes free admission to the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame.

Saturday, July 19 — Racing and Rosé Fashion Show with Miss Scarlett Boutique
Time: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
About: Join us for a fashion show and brunch party at the Museum featuring racing-inspired style curated by Miss Scarlett Boutique’s Jennifer Marcellus. Join host Donna Barton Brothers for a vibrant fashion show and brunch at the Museum, showcasing racing-inspired style curated by Jennifer Marcellus of Miss Scarlett Boutique — including her original designs.
The VIP ticket includes early arrival at 10:30 a.m. to meet and mingle with NBC racing analyst, commentator, author, and former top jockey Donna Barton Brothers. You will also get a custom floral fascinator with Old Tavern Farm Flowers and sip on some Old Tavern Farm Winery rosé. Oklahoma Training Track Tours
Available through October, this exclusive, 60-minute behind-the-scenes walking tour of Saratoga Race Course’s famous training site offers guests the opportunity to experience the morning workouts and includes Museum admission. Reservations required (no children under the age of 10 permitted). Cost: $15 adults, $10 seniors and students, 50 percent off for Museum members. Tom Durkin Museum Tours
Join legendary race caller Tom Durkin for a unique and entertaining tour experience of the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. These special tours last one hour and include a showing of the Museum’s new signature film, What It Takes: Journey to the Hall of Fame. Every Wednesday in July from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., a Museum educator will be in our HorsePlay! Gallery to talk about that week’s equine topic and to help children complete an equine-themed craft. Weekly topics and crafts can be found outlined on our website!
Walk of Fame at Saratoga Race Course
Check out the Museum’s satellite location at Saratoga Race Course to learn about the history of the sport and for family activities every racing day during the summer meeting. Additionally, items from the Museum collection will periodically be on display, including the 1976 Diana Handicap trophy (on Friday, July 11); the 1934 Sanford Stakes trophy (Friday, July 11); the 1961 Coaching Club American Oaks trophy (Friday, July 18); and the1965 Jim Dandy Stakes trophy (Friday, July 25).
