Derby Day of Discovery, presented by the New York State Breeding and Development Fund
The education department will be hosting a two-hour Derby Day of Discovery program in the HorsePlay! Gallery on April 26. In anticipation of the following week’s Kentucky Derby, this one-of-a-kind family event will educate kids about America's greatest race and get them involved in the celebration. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. kids will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of Derby-themed activities with a hands-on approach to learning about America’s oldest continuously ran stakes race. Topics, and corresponding activities, will include roses, fascinators/top hats, souvenir glasses, and a reading of Gaston Goes to the Kentucky Derby by James Rice. This event is sponsored by the New York State Breeding and Development Fund.
Cost: No charge for children and their chaperones attending this event.
