Win, Place, Show student art exhibition opens March 1

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the return of the popular Win, Place, Show: Student Art Exhibition, which opens March 1 in the Museum’s von Stade Gallery for Capital Region students in grades 3-7 and on April 5 for grades 8-12. The exhibition is sponsored by the New York State Thoroughbred Breeding and Development Fund. 

Win, Place, Show will feature art from students in grades 3 through 12 in the von Stade gallery. Submissions at all grade levels are currently being accepted. The submission deadline for grades 3-7 is Feb. 23, while the submission deadline for grades 8-12 is March 30.

The exhibition will be held in two parts. The grades 3-7 exhibition will run from March 1 through March 30, while the 8-12 exhibition will run from April 5 through May 4. There is no cost to submit artwork and Museum admission is free for student artists and their families throughout the duration of the exhibit.

Additionally, a winner will be selected from each grade division, and will receive a slate of prizes, including Museum membership, Saratoga Race Course tickets, and more. If you have a student artist interested in submitting a piece for the exhibition, contest rules and submission instructions are available on the Museum website.

Rodion Cantacuzene Scholarship applications now being accepted

The Museum’s Rodion Cantacuzene Scholarship is awarded annually to a high school senior in Saratoga County to recognize extraordinary achievement in academics and community service. The scholarship is named after the late Museum trustee Rodion Cantacuzene in honor of his decades of service to the institution and racing. Students with an interest in history, arts, or thoroughbred racing should head to the Museum's website to learn more about the scholarship and download an application form. The Rodion Cantacuzene scholarship winner will receive a one-time award of $1,000.
