Secretariat Curator’s Tour and new Book Club highlight early 2024 programming at the National Museum of Racing
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame will play host to a special Secretariat Curator’s Tour in January and debut a new Book Club in February as part of its expanded programing in 2024.
Join Jessica Cloer, the Museum’s curator, for a distinctive tour experience of A Tremendous Machine: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Secretariat’s Triple Crown on Wednesday, Jan. 10. The Curator’s Tour will go behind the scenes and detail the process of what it took to bring the popular exhibition to life. Attendees will get a unique perspective at the design and curation process of A Tremendous Machine from concept to finished product, including the acquiring of a diverse set of objects, artwork, and multimedia. Light refreshments will be provided before the start of the tour. The Curator’s Tour will begin at 5:30 p.m. and costs $10 for Museum members and $25 for non-members. Museum Book Club to launch in February
The Museum’s Book Club will examine six popular racing titles in a bi-monthly program beginning in February on site at the Museum. The Book Club will meet on the second Thursday of every other month beginning Feb. 8 at 3 p.m. Meetings will include a guided discussion and a special guest for each book. Books are available for purchase individually through the Museum gift shop or a special bundle rate of $125 for all six books. Cost to participate in the Book Club is $30 for Museum members and $60 for non-members. The cost includes access to all six programs and refreshments at each event.
