Children’s Program: “Get Ready for the Races and Design Your Own Silks:” As the Saratoga meet begins, learn fun facts about the role of jockeys, try on jockey silks then design your own. Recommended for children ages 3 through 8. Time: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost: Free with paid adult admission.

Open House at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame: Celebrate the first Saturday of the Saratoga racing season at the Museum’s Open House. The event will feature numerous vendors and food options, as well as the first of our weekly “Saratoga Saturdays” handicapping sessions with Tom Amello and Trackfacts (10:40 a.m. in the Hall of Fame). Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost: Free admission.

Children’s Program: “If You Could Create Your Own Horse:” Explore the different colors and markings of horses as well as what goes into choosing a name then, create your own. Recommended for children ages 3 through 8. Time: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost: Free with paid adult admission.

Women in Racing exhibit opening:  The Museum’s comprehensive exhibit chronicling the role of women in thoroughbred racing opens to the public in the McBean Gallery. Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday Morning Social: Join Museum staff and special guests for a casual discussion of the day’s racing action at Saratoga and other tracks throughout the country. Featuring “Saratoga Saturdays” handicapping with Tom Amello and Trackfacts at 10:40 a.m., as well as complimentary light refreshments and Saratoga past performances for the day’s racing card. Cost: Free admission. Time: 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Children’s Program: “Anatomy, Them Bones:” Join us to learn about the anatomy of horses then, build a horse skeleton with some creative supplies. Recommended for children ages 3 through 8. Time: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost: Free with paid adult admission.

Racing Trivia Night. Bring your team for a truly unique racing-themed trivia contest. There will be prizes and special presentations, as well as food and drink options. Time: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Cost: Free for Museum members; $10 non-members.

Sugar Plum Farm Tour: Join the Museum for a tour of Sugar Plum Farm, a boutique thoroughbred breeding facility located less than one mile from Saratoga Race Course, as part of our ongoing farm tour series. Along with the tour of the grounds and facilities and meeting the resident thoroughbreds, there will be a catered lunch at the farm. Time: 10:30 a.m. at Sugar Plum Farm, 96 Gilbert Rd, Saratoga Springs. Cost: $25 for Museum members and $30 for non-members.

Children’s Program: “Horse-Themed Trivia Game:” Come and play some racing-themed games and make a fun toy with a straw! Recommended for children ages 3 through 8. Time: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost: Free with paid adult admission.
