Horse Explorers children’s program: Recommended for ages 3-6, “Horse Explorers” is a hands-on series intended to creatively educate children about horses by developing age-appropriate skills in disciplines including art, literacy, science and math. Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation Farm Tour: Join the Museum for a tour at Bloomfield Farm with Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation, an organization for rescued thoroughbred racehorses that raises awareness of the importance of thoroughbred aftercare, as part of our ongoing farm tour series.

Join the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame to celebrate the Smithsonian’s FREE Museum Day event! Begin your day at the museum at 10:30 with a reading of Dr. Seuss’s new book “Dr. Seuss’s Horse Museum.” After the reading, children will explore the Museum with a special scavenger hunt based on "Horse Museum and design their own horse art and frame to take home. Time: 10 a.m. to noon.

Greentree Stable Tour: Join the Museum for a tour of Greentree Stable, Godolphin’s private training facility owned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, as part of our ongoing farm tour series. Along with the tour of the grounds and facilities and meeting the resident thoroughbreds, there will be a catered lunch at the farm. Time: 10:30 a.m. at Greentree Stable, at 36 Nelson Avenue, Saratoga Springs.

Saturday Morning Social: Join Museum staff and special guests for a casual discussion of the day’s racing action at Saratoga and other tracks throughout the country. Featuring “Out of the Clouds: The Unlikely Horseman and the Unwanted Colt Who Conquered the Sport of Kings” book signing with author Linda Carroll, as well as Saratoga Saturdays” handicapping with Tom Amello and Trackfacts (10:40 a.m.), as well as complimentary light refreshments and Saratoga past performances for the day’s racing card.

Children’s Program: “Museum Bingo!:” A classic game and so much fun with horses, paintings, and museum objects. Come see how you do! Recommended for children ages 3 through 8. Time: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost: Free with paid adult admission.
